A s many designers know creating a logo can be difficult an undertaking. The logo defines a company’s brand and so much hinges upon creating the right look to represent a brand. Sometimes it comes easy and other times it can be overwhelming.
Unfortunately Skyblue Elipse’s logo fell into the latter. Coming up with an idea for the logo was exhausting though I will admit a little invigorating. I made quite a lot of samples before the finding the right one I thought was best.
In the design I sought to convey the meaning of the logo which is to declare Skyblue's intention to "Eclipse" in other words to surpass its predecessors, competitors and excel in its new field. With that in mind I had to figure out a way to create an eclipse while including the required brand colour "blue".
As you can see from these images so many failed versions. Looking at some of them now I don’t know how I at one point considered them viable options.
I will admit a few of the designs did turn quite good, I’m still of the mind that they were good enough to cut it as the brand’s logo. However if you look closely you can see that some aspects of these samples are used in the final version.
In conclusion I will say that I am pleased with the final version of the logo and I eventually made a T-Shirt called “Synonyms of Eclipse” which pretty much explains the basis of the Eclipse logo although I must say I’ve never had to use so many synonyms in a design đŸ˜€
